Our favorite aspect of Centre de Yoga du Marais is the brightly painted sign right outside the front door. The colorful homespun flowers, vines and letters are pure Haut Marais funk yet also totally capture the rootsy, welcoming ambiance that owner and director Michelle Jacobi has nurtured since she founded the studio in 2001.
One of the first Parisian studios to be certified by Yoga Alliance as a training school, Centre du Yoga du Marais has been turning out well-rounded teachers practically since the start. Michelle herself trained many of the instructors on the studio’s class schedule.
In some ways, practicing at the Centre feels like practicing in a bubble outside of time and space. Paris may be outside the front door, but the only world you’re concerned with is the one unfolding within.
